An extruded noodle project can fail even when the extruder reaches its rated motor load. Flour or starch may not feed consistently, the dough may not develop as expected, the die may create unstable shapes, cooling may be insufficient, or the downstream dryer and packer may not accept the output. “Noodle extruder machine” is therefore too small a description for an industrial purchase.
Shangbaotai publishes an extruding production system using a secondary, or two-stage, screw extrusion concept. It lists rice, millet, wheat, corn, bean, potato, and other starch materials, and identifies vermicelli, rice noodles, noodles, and multigrain noodles as possible non-fried products. Its reference dual-head line is listed at 24,000 bags per eight hours, 380 V/50 Hz, 400 kW installed capacity, and dimensions of 70,000 × 1,500 × 4,000 mm. Every value must be tied to the current model, product, pack weight, and scope before purchase.

Raw-material name alone is not enough. Rice flour from two milling processes can differ in particle size and damaged starch. Starches vary in gelatinization and water absorption. Multigrain blends may contain fiber, protein, fat, or particles that affect feeding, pressure, die flow, and finished texture.
Provide representative material specifications and samples. Include moisture, particle-size distribution, bulk density, starch or protein information where relevant, additives, hydration range, and seasonal or supplier variation. State whether raw materials are dry milled, wet milled, pregelatinized, cooked, fermented, or otherwise prepared.
The supplier should identify required upstream cleaning, sieving, grinding, blending, liquid preparation, preconditioning, and metering. Do not assume the extruder corrects inconsistent feed.
Submit physical samples and drawings where possible. State cross-section, diameter or width, wall thickness for hollow shapes, length, surface texture, straight or curved form, portion weight, initial and final moisture, preparation method, cooking time, texture, and pack.
Shangbaotai states that extruder molds are customized to product requirements. A mold is part of product development, not merely a spare part. Ask how many dies are included, what material and wear limits apply, how changeovers are performed, how dies are cleaned and stored, and whether trial dies can be modified before final manufacture.
Different shapes change pressure, cut-off, drying, breakage, and packing. Capacity must be confirmed for each governing shape.

Extrusion process equipment and control arrangement.
The Shangbaotai page describes a secondary screw extrusion machine and states that first and second extrusion can be switched freely. Ask the engineering team to explain the process purpose of each stage, which products use one or both stages, and how temperature, pressure, residence, and transfer are controlled.
Do not assume that “twin-screw” and “two-stage extrusion” mean the same mechanical arrangement. Confirm the number of screws in each barrel, screw rotation and configuration, barrel zones, feed system, venting, and the exact process flow. Use the terminology in the approved technical proposal.
Screw profile influences conveying, mixing, compression, shear, and residence time. Product trials should establish a validated configuration. The buyer should also ask which screw and barrel parts are wear components and how condition is measured.

Shangbaotai states that its extrusion temperature-control system can use steam or electromagnetic heating and a water chiller for cooling. It describes heating and cooling as quick and stable. For procurement, request zone-by-zone setpoint and operating ranges, heating capacity, cooling load, medium conditions, sensor locations, alarms, and response during start-up and stops.
Temperature displayed at the barrel is not the same as product temperature everywhere. If product quality depends on gelatinization or cooking inside the extruder, agree on how process state is evaluated through pressure, temperature, moisture, residence, and finished tests.
Cooling capacity must reflect local cooling-water temperature and ambient conditions. Confirm whether the 400 kW published installed capacity includes the chiller, downstream dryer, conveyors, and packaging or only the stated line.
The line may require mixers, conditioners, tanks, pumps, feeders, and buffers upstream. Dry feeders should handle bulk-density changes without surging. Liquid addition must be calibrated and distributed. If hot water, steam, or slurry is used, define temperature and sanitary controls.
For a multigrain or starch blend, segregation between blending and the extruder can change product. Review hopper shape, agitation, transfer distance, and first-in-first-out flow. Ask how start-up and shutdown material is separated and whether it can be reworked under the buyer’s food-safety rules.
At the die, pressure converts the conditioned mass into the intended shape. Die temperature, opening geometry, surface, wear, and product moisture affect flow. The cutter must match extrusion speed and produce stable length without smearing or deformation.
After cutting, fresh extrudate may need separation, predrying, cooling, stretching, steaming, aging, or another treatment depending on the product. Ask for the complete flow from die face to finished pack. A bare extruder quote may exclude most of the machinery required to preserve shape.
The public reference is 24,000 bags in eight hours, equivalent to 50 bags per minute if production is continuous and no losses are applied. Mass flow cannot be calculated without bag weight. At 500 g per bag the arithmetic would be 1,500 kg/h; at 250 g it would be 750 kg/h. These are illustrations, not Shangbaotai ratings.
Ask which bag weight, product, die, moisture, and efficiency support the published value. Request both wet and finished kg/h, plus accepted bags per hour after drying and packaging. Identify the governing section.
If multiple products are planned, create a capacity matrix. A small die opening, high-fiber formula, long drying time, or fragile shape may reduce output relative to the reference.
Extruded non-fried noodles often require controlled thermal and moisture treatment after forming. The exact route may include steaming, boiling, aging, hot-air drying, cooling, or conditioning. Define initial and final moisture, loading, residence, temperature, airflow, and product quality.
The dryer can become the line bottleneck. Ask for moisture removed per hour and uniformity across the dryer. Cooling should bring product to a stable packaging condition without condensation or breakage.
Do not copy a drying profile from wheat noodles to rice or starch products. Validate the formula and shape.
The 24,000-bag reference implies a packaging basis, but the public page does not define the packer or bag specification. Submit pack dimensions, weight, material, seal, code, inclusions, inspection, case count, and target rate.
Clarify whether the quote includes weighing, bagging, checkweighing, detection, cartoning, and pallet handling. Define product accumulation and stop logic between dryer and packer.
The reference line lists 380 V/50 Hz and 400 kW installed capacity. The buyer must provide local voltage and frequency; transformers or redesign may be required for other systems. Ask for connected and expected running demand, plus motor, heater, chiller, dryer, and packaging boundaries.
Also request steam pressure and demand where steam heating is selected, cooling-water or chiller load, process water, compressed air, exhaust, drainage, and ambient design conditions. The published dimensions are approximately 70 m long, 1.5 m wide, and 4 m high, but installation and maintenance space, platforms, utilities, and packaging require a larger building envelope.
Send a dimensioned layout with columns, doors, ceiling height, floor loads, hygiene zones, and material flow. Confirm shipping sections and installation access.
Trials should use representative raw materials, including expected variation. Test the smallest and largest planned die, difficult formula, nominal throughput, start and stop, product transition, cleaning, and stable production.
Measure feed accuracy, water addition, temperatures, pressures, output mass, shape, dimensions, moisture, breakage, cooking, texture, dryer performance, pack weight, and good-output rate. Agree on the test duration and sampling plan. If 24,000 bags per shift is used commercially, define how a shorter FAT run demonstrates that rate and what SAT must prove.
Buyers often ask for a machine based only on kg/h, omit raw-material variability, and assume one die can cover many products. They confuse installed power with consumption, ignore chiller and dryer load, and treat the published 70 m length as the total building requirement.
Other errors include using “twin-screw” without confirming configuration, comparing bag rates at different weights, neglecting wear parts, and accepting a line without product trials.
Confirm the current extruder arrangement and terminology, raw-material range, products, reference bag weight, wet and finished output, 400 kW boundary, 70,000 × 1,500 × 4,000 mm boundary, heating and cooling options, dies, dryer, packaging, construction, controls, wear parts, and trial conditions.
Send raw-material data and samples, product samples, target output, pack, utilities, site plan, and quality requirements. Ask for a process flow and equipment list from raw-material preparation to accepted cases.
